I wish they had 30 volumes!!!

I've been listening to this download here and there for a few days and have already picked up many words and phrases. By recognizing patterns, I'm beginning to understand verb conjugation and sentence structure. Yes, I am still in the hatchling stage, but feel I am progressing greatly for so little investment in time and money.Combining pleasant voices and music, the conversations are travel-related but still useful overall. The style is kind of playful with a teensy bit of banter.If you go to the Earworms website and sign up for the newsletter you can download the accompanying pdf phrase book. I'm also supplementing with game apps on my iPhone (Mindsnacks and Duolingo).Here's hoping Earworms produces further volumes in Latin American Spanish!

Although this book is fun and easy flowing, it is actually only 2 hrs. Considering that a regular audio book is around 10 hrs, this is 1/5 of a book so you're not getting much of a value or leaning anything really.

I can not comment on being entirely new to the language. I had a bilingual boyfriend whose family spoke Spanish mainly when together (which was often) so I had to figure it out then or be completely lost. I've never had any formal training though and was never even close to fluent by any stretch, but could get by once upon a time. Fast forward 10 years and that boyfriend is still a great friend and my oldest son's Godfather. I haven't spoken Spanish really at all except the occasional customer who speaks English as poorly as my Spanish and so we have to muddle through with a smattering of both languages somehow. I live in the southern Midwest so that does happen occasionally). Anyways, we are planning to go visit my son's Godfather during summer this year and I wanted to relearn Spanish a little and teach some phrases to my son to say to his Godfather just as a fun little surprise. These sessions are fun, I enjoy the music and like the bantering type back and forth between the guy and girl. I suspect that this may not be a great beginning tape, though. It's pretty fast paced and not much breaking apart of the words/conversations. It's basically the way I learned the language though and I'm picking up more then I expected to from it. Nice for using while biking or driving.
